| The Isle La Motte Volunteer Fire Company
was formed in 1967 when community-minded residents bought
an engine with their own money and operated out of a
donated grange hall in the center of Town. Forty years
later the Company still operates out of the grange hall
but much has changed. The fire station has been renovated
numerous times and now houses modern firefighting equipment
deployed by a group of 16 dedicated volunteers.
As the equipment has changed, so has the Fire Company.
Among the current response capabilities are Fire Suppression,
Search and Rescue, Emergency Medical First Response,
Marine Rescue, and Ice Rescue. Through Mutual Aid
Agreements with Grand Isle County (VT and QC), and
Clinton County (NY), the IVFC will respond to a wide
array of emergencies over a large area – on
land, ice, and water. In turn our partners are prepared
to assist at Isle La Motte emergency scenes when requested
to do so.
Anyone with interest in knowing more about the Fire
Company can contact us via email.
