The Isle La Motte Free Public Library is located on Main
Street, just north of the “Four Corners.”
This lovely and historic stone building was built in 1830
by James Ritchie, for Ira Hill who lived in the large
stone house to the south. Built of locally quarried limestone,
the building was originally used by tenant farmers, and
at one time housed two families. It became a library in
1904.
Please come and visit our unique library. Check out a
book, use our computers for Internet access, or simply
enjoy this beautiful building.
